Ismaa’eel bin Abi Uways

Al-Nawawi said: “And similarly, Ismaa’eel bin Abi Uways has been weakened by Yahya bin Ma’een and al-Nasaa’ee; however the majority has declared him Thiqah and they have taken evidence from him; and (likewise) Al-Bukhaari and Muslim have taken evidence from him in their Saheehayn”

Baqiyyah bin al-Waleed

Al-Mundhiri said: “He is Thiqah according to the Jumhoor however he is Mudallis”

Adh-Dhahabi said: “The Jumhoor has declared him Thiqah in what he heard from the Thiqaat”

Bahz bin Hakeem bin Mu’aawiyah al-Qushayri, AbuAbdul Malik

Ibn Hajar said: “He is Mawthaq according to the Jumhoor”

Al-Manaawi said: “He is declared Thiqah by the Majority, and he is weakened by some due to his memory”

Al-Nawawi said: “He is criticized by a group; however he is declared Thiqah by the Majority”

I say: The truth about Shahr bin Hawshab is with Al-Nawawi that he is declared Thiqah by the Majority

Abdul Humayd bin Ja’far bin Abdullah binal-Hakam bin Raafi’ al-Ansaari

Al-Zayla’ee said: “However, he is declared Thiqah by the Majority of Scholars…”

Al-Aynee said: “… he is among those who are criticized, however he is declared Thiqah by the Majority of Scholars; and Muslim has taken evidence from him in his Saheeh; and the weakening of those who weakened him does not necessitate the rejection of his hadeeth…”

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalaani said: “And he is Thiqah according to the Majority”

Abdur Rahmaan bin Yazeed bin Jaabir ad-Dimashqi

Al-Haafidh said: “He is one of the Thiqah Thabat narrators, and he is declared Thiqah by the Jumhoor”

Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel

Ibn al-Mulaqqin said: “And the Majority – as said by Al-Nawawi in Sharh al-Muhadhdhab – has taken evidence from him”

I (Shaykh Zubayr) say: The correct opinion is that he is weakened by the Jumhoor.

I (Raza) say: The saying of Ibn al-Mulaqqin is more correct.

Al-Busayri said: “However, he is declared Thiqah by the Jumhoor”

Abdul Wahhaab bin Ataa al-Khaffaaf, Abu Nasral-Ijlee

Al-Zayla’ee said: “And he is declared Thiqah by the Majority”

Al-Nawawi said: “He is disputed upon; and the majority has declared him Thiqah; and Muslim has taken evidence from him in his Saheeh”

Al-Bayhaqi said: “And Ikrimah is one of the Thiqah Thabat narrators according to the Majority of A’immah”

Imraan bin Daawar, Abu al-Awwaam al-Qattaanal-Basri

Al-Busayri said: “And he has been declared Thiqah by the Jumhoor”

Amr bin Abi Amr Mawla al-Muttalib

Al-Suyooti said: “And he is declared Thiqah by the Jumhoor”

Amr bin Shu’ayb bin Muhammad bin Abdullah binAmr bin al-Aas An Abeehi An Jaddihi

Ibn al-Mulaqqin said: “The Majority is upon taking evidence from it (i.e. from this Silsilah of chain) as said by Ibn as-Salaah in his Kalaam on al-Muhadhdhab”

Al-Zayla’ee said: “And the Majority of People take evidence from the hadeeth of Amr bin Shu’ayb, when the narrator narrating from him is Thiqah…”

Al-Haafidh Ibn Taymiyyah said: “And as for the A’immah of Islaam and the Jumhoor of Scholars, then they take evidence from the hadeeth of Amr bin Shu’ayb narrated from his Father from his Grandfather, when the narration is authentic up to him…”

Al-Aynee said: “And the Jumhoor has declared Al-Qaasim bin Abdur Rahmaan Thiqah, and some have weakened him”

Qaza’ah bin Suwayd al-Baahili

Al-Suyooti said: “And Qaza’ah is declared Thiqah by the Jumhoor”

Abdul Haqq al-Ashbaylee said: “He is declared Thiqah by a group, and weakened by others, and those who declared him Thiqah are the Majority”

Al-Aynee said: “The criticism of Ibn al-Jawzee for Ibn Ishaaq is nothing for verily Ibn Ishaaq is from the Major Thiqah narrators according to the Jumhoor”

Ibn Hajar said: “And he is declared Thiqah by the Jumhoor…”
